John Shollenberger created Life in SoCal over 5 years ago with filming the pilot episode "Past Pleasures Car Club" in July 2010. With Richard Villasenor behind the the camera, they set out to create a program that speaks for Southern California and speaks to the rest of the world. A program that was free from outside influence and sponsorship. John continues to hand select the subjects and venues of the show, judging what he believes to be the type of programming that captures what it means to be a member of the SoCal community.
Every person that we speak to in our videos is passionate about something. Whether it is food, cars, entertaining, volunteering, fundraising or serving their country, their passion makes our community dynamic and intriguing. We use our program to amplify their passion and make it part of the global dialogue. Southern California is just a place on a map, it's the hearts and minds of our neighbors that makes it a truly extraordinary place to live.
